Two years this weekend was the start of a new life for Doug. The CMPD patient-doctor conference at Mayo's in Scottsdale covered a small family of rare blood disorders. Doug had been diagnosed with Polycythemia Vera. The conference doctors made arrangements for Doug to go to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Clinic in Houston. It was determined there that Doug did not have the bone marrow disease but that the mis-diagnosis was caused by severe sleep apnea. S0......Doug no longer has to have chemotherapy but has to spend this weekend in chilly Illinois!
