Clean Up Day - Finally!

The Coulter's have the youth from Glen Hill Church help with the garden cleanup once again. They use the donated money to support missionaries. It took four attempts to find a time when it wasn't raining.

Spring Flower Planting

The teenagers from church perform work projects to raise money for missionaries. They helped the Coulter's with garden planting and clean-up chores.

Decorating Valentine Cookies

The Zeb boys are waiting to gobble up any broken pieces while Marilee is decorating heart cookies for the GHEFC Valentines Banquet. Cara's mother-in-law. Francis, works in a bakery in Galt, CA and sent them to Marilee.

Day 336 - Sunday December 2, 2007

GHEFC Cookie Exchange

The annual cookie exchange program was canceled on Saturday due to an ice storm. Too bad, as Marilee had prepared a wonderful program using cookie cutters to tell the Christmas Story of Christ. The ladies then exchanged the cookies after church.

Note: Philippa and Marilee headed to Chicago where they stayed over night at Philippa's son's home. They have an early morning flight to Cancun. (no photo - camera battery went dead and the girls were anxious to leave.)

Loading Shoe Boxes

GHEFC participates in providing gift-filled shoe boxes to be distributed around the world by Samaritan's Purse.

The elders of the church prepared a chilli luncheon prior to the quarterly business meeting.

Christmas Card Box

Marilee is putting Christmas decorations on a box that she had Doug make for her. It will hold hanging folders which will be used as the "post office" for Christmas cards at church.

Weiner Roast

Doug was unable to attend the weiner roast at Glen Hill E. Free church so Marilee snapped these for him. Doug put them together in a faux-panororama view.

Breakfast at Pleasant Hill Antique Mall

Several couples from Glen Hill E. Free Church gathered together for breakfast and fellowship.

Dinner at Child Evangelism Banquet

The State organization of Child Evangelism Fellowship gathered in Peoria to celebrate 70 years of bringing the Christian Bible message to children.

Lunch after Church

Several families from GHEFC took their coupons and ate at the Steak-n-Shake in Morton. The men, women and kids all had their separate tables.

Wonderful Car Show

Dave Sanson invited Doug to a Pre-1948 Car Show was held in the private Ault Park in East Peoria. There must have been 175 cars on display. It was the best car show that Doug has seen.

Women's Bible Study

The women of GHEFC are taking a Beth Moore Bible Study Course. They meet on Wednesday evenings. The men also gather in another room to study passages from Pastor Greg's Sunday Sermon.

Cleaning Up

Barry Williams has taken upon himself to maintain some of the flowers around the church. He took a few minutes before Wednesday night Bible Study to tidy up. Zeb is helping by checking for stray weeds.

Clean-up Day

Doug and Marilee had some help spring cleaning the backyard. This "Extra Hands" group from Glen Hill E. Free Church uses work projects such as this to raise funds for church missionaries. Click here for more photos.

Delivery Day

Glen Hill Evangelical Free Church held a Can-a-thon to benefit the Tazewell/Woodford HeadStart food pantry in East Peoria. A small group delivered the goods and presented a money gift to the director. Click here for more pictures.
