Doug is going to have a major change in his life. He does NOT have the primary blood disease, Polycythemia Vera (PV). There has been a new method developed in the last year to check for a bone marrow error that causes PV and Doug does not have it. Doug has stopped his chemotherapy and blood lettings. Most likely the incorrect original diagnosis was from symptoms similar to PV caused by his sleep disorders.
