Ttibute Plaque to Stuart Hamblen

Doug and Marilee needed a rest stop so they pulled off the highway at Jefferson, TX. They drove around town because they noticed quaint victorian houses. This plaque was found in a public garden area. This was a very special moment for Doug. Mr. Hamblen led an evangelistic crusade in Galesburg, Illinois where Doug accepted Jesus as his saviour.

Doug and Marilee on Tour

Against Doug's better judgement, the Coulter's took a carriage ride around town. The last time they had taken a carriage ride, the horse spooked and ran away from the driver's control. Jefferson was an old river town that died when the steamboats couldn't get up the river any more. It is now a tourist town with 62 Bed and Breakfast Inns in turn-of-the-century homes.
