Manufactured by Decatur Bridge in 1904

Day 012 - Wednesday January 12, 2011

This is for Doug's "bridge buddy", Dean Brown of Des Moines. This is the location in 1967 that raised Doug's interest in the old iron bridges and their manufacturers. This one was replaced many years ago.

Day 047 - Monday February 16, 2009

Decatur Bridge 1904
Doug took this photo in 2004 when the bridge was 100 years old.
It is on lightly traveled road so it may still be in use.
Doug hopes to check on it again this summer.

Day 033 - Monday February 2, 2009

Two Bridges
Doug's favorite pictures are of the old country bridges.
This one has two bridges!

Day 74 - Thursday March 15, 2007

Traveling Home from HoustonThe trees were in bloom down south. Things got browner as we got closer to home.
Cape Girardeau was another old river town where we spent the night. They have a nice waterfront with beautiful murals on the sea walls. The downtown was restored with lots of antique stores. The bridge was beautiful in the late afternoon sunlight. The suspension rods looked like solid towers from a distance.
