Day 108 - Wednesday April 18, 2007
Doug's Doves - An Update
Tragedy has struck the Dining Room Doves. A cat scared the parents away one night and the eggs got cold. They sat on them for a few days to no avail. The Bucket Doves have two little ones. The Water Fountain Doves won't let me see anything yet. (Update on the update - the two little ones didn't make it.)Day 91 - Sunday April 1, 2007
Oh No - not another Dove picture! Tell me that it's an April Fool Joke - Please!
Doves have been nesting several times a year in this basket just outside the Dining Room. For many years we have watched the little ones grow up.

Day 88 update - Thursday March 29, 2007
Zeb could no longer occupy the nest in the water wheel fountain. He was viciously driven out by an upset mother Dove. It looks like Doug may have to intervene in the battle to allow the fountain to perform its chosen function - entertaining Doug.
Day 86 - Tuesday March 27, 2007
Doug doesn't mind having the Doves nest on his property. However, he just doesn't always like where they decide to have the baby doves. This nest is in Doug's wheel water fountain. It has to go! - but first, Zeb decided he might try it out.
Day 77 - Sunday March 18, 2007
Spring is Here !
You know spring is near when the Doves start nesting around the house. There are generally a couple of nests that we allow to stay. This one has to go because of the mess on the front porch. Too bad - she has already laid two eggs. There is a nest in a basket right outside the Dining Room window where we enjoy watching the little ones grow up.
