Peoria Heights Policeman's View

Doug was in Switzerland on a business trip soon after the honeymoon. Marilee became uncomfortable with a car that parked continually across the street and called the Police Department. Then a man got out of the suspicious car and walked straight across the street to the house! The man was a police officer answering the call from an unmarked police car where he had been watching for traffic violations on a new one-way street.

Starter Home

Doug and Marilee were married in 1966 and started housekeeping at this house still on Columbus street in Peoria Heights.

Make Steps to Volvo

Marilee soon had Doug start a Do-List. The first item was "Make Steps to Volvo" as there was a small but steep incline to the only off-street parking area. She still reminds Doug that he never finished to first item on his do-list — but somebody did as seen in the current photo.
