Date Nails

In the past, nails with a number signifying the year installed was driven into the railroad ties. This helped to identify ties that may need to be replaced. Doug has a collection of over 1300 date nails.

Holocaust Memorial

In 2001, a museum in Texas asked Doug for date nails during the war years as part of a Holocaust exhibition.
